It’s incredibly common for people to gradually or suddenly quit participating in art as they age. The reasons it becomes more and more difficult over time are complicated, varied, and numerous. I go over this in more detail in an upcoming essay, but that’s not the main focus of this segment.
At Talking Writing, we believe that engaging with and participating in art throughout adulthood is a healthy and sometimes necessary practice. But if we’re not showing that to our kids, how are they going to get that message?
